My carpets are hand knotted on a loom. The same technique as the real size Oriental carpets.
The following picture shows the different steps to knot and weave a carpet.
To finish a carpet it can take some days when small, to several weeks or some even Months for finer and a bit bigger pieces.
The price is in proportion of the number of knots because that represents the time needed to make the carpet. A silk carpet can be smaller than a wool one but the price higher.
